2nd Story Brewing Co. "Potluck"
on tap at the brewery on 4/27/16
$6.50 / glass
Notes: No wonder it's called "Potluck", it's got grain from 11 different farms via the Craft Malsters Guild. Dark Mahogany with ruby highlights beneath a creamy off-white head. Good retention but better lacing. Caramelish malt in the nose. Grainy and caramelish in the flavor with a mix of juicy red and dark fruit (berry, apple/pear, raisin), grassy hops, and spice - the alcohol is not hot, but clear, and leads to a dry raspy finish as the malt subsides. Overall it's a touch too bitter with a harsh finish. Medium to medium-full in body and smooth and creamy once warmed.
