Opened 9 days after the bottled-on date.

Vibrant dark orange color with two fingers of pretty frothy, tan-tinted head that leaves heavy lacing.

Big, earthy aroma of pine tar, some muted citrus, a touch of strawberry and a faint herbal smell.

The taste is a complete malt assault. When cold, it's a gross nutty, corny mess. At room temp it's a dark-caramel-and-heavy-pine-tar combo, almost, but not quite, burnt, with some lingering orange juice sweetness and moderate hop bitterness.

Heavy, creamy mouthfeel; a touch of prickliness in there, but still fairly flat feeling.

Mixed feelings about this one. You've gotta love malt bombs to enjoy this. Interesting change of pace, anyhow.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam i the Affligem chalice. Medium body. Tangy and sharp with hop oils. A sourish note in the aroma along with the smell of fermenting pineapple.

Moderately bitter. Rather sweet and tastes more like a Double IPA. Strange stuff, like orange juice with a Yukon Jack chaser. LIght body. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Purchased a 22 oz bottle from Beaumont Market. Another tasty beer from 3 Magnets. Light copper in color. Creamy head that was quite sustainable and left a lot of lacing. The smell is light pungent fruit and caramel malt. Citrus and herbal notes as well. The flavor is superb. High hoppy NW style IPA, grapefruit, tropical fruit, apricot, peach, hints of pine and herbs. Resinous and juicy, but not too bitter. Just right. The malt cuts through & smooths this all out. Excellent beer in my opinion.

17 day old bottle and aromas couldn't be any better. Definitely fruit forward on the nose and flavor and a bit of pungent hop flavor floating through. Bitterness is balanced making this a welcome sipper in a 22ounce format. Overall a great beer.

Got a fresh bottle in Seattle. Smell is obviously extremely hoppy, as well as citrus fruits too. Taste is similar to smell, but no alcohol burn either. Rather surprising considering the hefty 12.5%. Definitely worth grabbing one or two or three of you see them.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine two finger light tan head with great retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, citrus hops, orange citrus, light tropical fruit, mildly spicy. Flavor is mild caramel and biscuit malt, citrus hops, light stone fruit and orange citrus, hints of tropical fruit; finishing with lightly resinous pine and citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess and good carbonation. A good sturdy caramel malt with biscuit notes supporting a nice blend of hops providing citrus and mixed fruit flavors. Well balanced and flavorful with a really good residual, lightly resinous finish. A perfect rainy day IPA. This bottled version is a little higher ABV: 7.2.

Was very disappointed with Rainy Day IPA from Three Magnets but decided to give them another shot...glad I did. This is a very good IPA. Hoppy without being a hop bomb and very well rounded.
