Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a half finger white head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma is as advertised: lots of tropical and citrus fruit, citrus rind hops, neutral malt with a hint of caramel. Flavor is tropical fruit, light stone fruit, lemon and orange citrus, citrus hops, a slight dankness; mild caramel malt. Finishes with citrus and lightly resinous hops. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A richly fruit influenced pale ale, presenting these two fruit forward hops well. The malt body is light in flavor, but quite substantial, allowing to support the hops and allow their flavors to be at the fore. Not quite as hoppy and bitter as I might expect from a fresh wet hopped ale, but so nicely balanced and flavorful that it won me over. Looking forward to the other two varieties offered this year. I like the malt support in this more than most other single hop ales I've in the past.
