Poured from 16oz tall can into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: medium golden hue with tons and tons of thick, murky haze. A good example of the hazy style!

Smell: earthy, piney aroma. Not a ton of sweetness, but I like the richness of the earth.

Taste: big, sweet, earthy, a bit fruity, a little piney, a little herbal. There's definitely a ton going on here; fresh and very satisfying.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess for the style.

Overall: definitely a ton of flavor here; totally worth trying if you can pick it up fresh.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium, completely opaque murky orange, with a big, three finger off-white head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, citrus and mildly tropical hops, orange, lemon and light papaya. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and piney hops, orange and tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, mild unidentifiable mixed tropical fruit. Finishes with resinous citrus rind and piney hops with a little aftertaste of caramel. Medium bodied with nice creaminess and mouthfeel. Another pleasant entry into the flood of unfiltered IPAs, and another one that had a sturdy flavor that lasted throughout the taste and glass. The fully herbal and moderately high alpha oil unfiltered hops are well selected for lingering citrus and piney flavors. The creamy mouthfeel adds a lot to enjoyment of the fruit flavors. I think I like the citrus and piney oriented versions of this style better than the more purely tropical. This one has hints of tropical fruit, but is less fruit-forward. Still on the fence on this style, but finding ones to enjoy. I'm uncertain why this style seems prone to every brew batch being a new named IPA. I'm glad to try all the variations, but wonder if these unfiltered IPAs may have more inter-batch variability that challenges reproducing the same named IPA. Looks like a fruit smoothy, smells like fresh hops and has a great hop bill. Enjoyable.

Poured from 16 oz. can into American pint glass. Purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle.

L: It looks dank, cloudy, and mega hazy. The color is of dirty straw. Fantastic subtle head.

S: Smells mandarin orange-y. Some bitterness/hops.

T: The taste starts bright with hops then quickly swirls into more gentle mandarin cream soda flavors. After swallowing the citrus notes really permeate and there is some bitterness in the back but overall the bitterness is not forefront.

F: It feels like a cream soda in texture. This beer has a fantastic texture. It feels close to a steamed milk beverage in texture, like a latte. You can feel the skunky-ness, the dampness. It's not thick or syrupy like a sweet porter or stout, but for a hazy IPA it's close.

O: Try this beer. I only bought one can, but I wish I got more. It's tasting great through the different temperatures after pouring. The texture is insanely pleasant - it's a well balanced wave of mandarin cream soda (cream ale), bitterness, and carbonation. If you like IPAs, then try this beer. If you LOVE hazy Northeastern style IPAs, then GET this beer. Get two. Fantastic beer and would drink again, and again.
