Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, grassy hops, overripe stone stone fruit and green onion as well as garlic; kinda odd. Flavor is pale malt, grassy and lightly citrus hops, green and white onion, light citrus rind. Medium bodied with light creaminess. I'm trying to remember my last single hop or dominant Eureka ale, but don't recall one. This pale ale is way too oniony for me, and I usually like a little green onion note in a hoppy pale ale or IPA. This one just isn't working for me. I'm not getting much fresh herbal citrus or pine. This can is a few weeks old, and maybe lost its fresh hop luster, or else I may not be a Eureka hop fan. I look forward to trying the next single hop with this variety (there could be a reason they are rare), but this ain't it. A rare miss from Three Magnets.
