Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, close to opaque caramel amber with a one finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical hops, lemon citrus, papaya, mango, hints of pineapple and old orange and unidentifiable mixed tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, mixed fruit with little individual fruit identity except some grapefruit and lemon, there are some tropical notes, but they are muddled. Finishes a little hoppier than usual for a fruity, hazy IPA, but the fruit flavors drop off in the finish leaving the hop bitterness a little stark on the palate. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. This has a less distinct fruit flavor than usual for this style, just kind of mixed, vague fruit that is clearly from hops. It starts solidly, but the flavor tapers off into a dry powdered hop finish with only light fruit. This one was one of the hazy IPAs that I lost interest in the flavor before the glass was finished. I've enjoyed most of the hazies from this brewery, so maybe I just don't get the hop bill on this one. Looks nice though, and comforting can design.
