16oz can courtesy of friend Ben who gave it to me. Brewed in collaboration with Fort George, this is a hazy IPA (I know, shocking from 3M...) brewed with "hibiscus, raspberry (sic) and rhubarb...dry hopped with Strata, Styrian Wolf and Citra" hops. Canned on May 29, 2018 per the stamp on the bottom.
Poured into an IPA glass, this was a hazy to opaque dark pink color, with a bubbly head of light pink-hued foam. Spotty and streaky lace.
Raspberry aroma up front, with a fruity, tropical hop scent a little further back. I don't know what hibiscus is supposed to smell like, so I cannot tell if it's aroma is present or not.
The raspberries lead off the taste as well. A hoppiness reminiscent of tropical fruits becomes most noticeable about midway through. The finish is slightly dry, and is where rhubarb flavor is most noticeable to me.
Medium bodied, with a slightly oily mouthfeel.
This may have had a greater amount of hop flavor when first canned, but the adjuncts, especially the raspberries, are sufficiently dominant that they seem to cover for any aged hop issues. I wouldn't want to session this, but I'm enjoying it in the amount of a single tallboy. Thanks, Ben!
