Scotty Scotch Ale

Poured into a MacAndrew's thistle glass. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass, with a half finger light brown head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of bready and lightly biscuit malt, dried plums and raisins, a little peaty smoke. Flavor follows with bready, biscuit malt, dried plums, raisins, dates and light to moderate peat smoke. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, better than average mouth feel. A spot-on traditional Scotch ale, with the expected malt and dried fruit flavors and a nice touch of smoke. Remarkable dark color and a nice bit of body to the malt; I'd suspect some oatmeal in there. A well done, very traditional Scotch ale.
