Canned 11/13/18, consumed 12/9/18

Poured hazy, cloudy, juice-like orange amber with a tiny head that left tons lacing.

Aroma is a bit light, but still nice floral/herbal bouquet and bright tropical/citrus/white grape notes. A few degrees stronger and this would be perfect.

Taste hits spot on - terrific, extremely juicy & complementary blend of tropical and white wine fruit notes with a touch of citrus and herbal flavors to a much smaller degree. Just wow. Right there with ASB's Nelson Baby! as the best Nelson features brews I've had.

Feel is medium, so smooth and easy drinking, good medium level carbonation, no real bitterness to deal with, an absolute joy to drink.

Overall, pretty blown away by the quality of this beer. I've had other 3Mags brews, and they were good, but this is next level great.

Wow, near perfect IPA me. I absolutely love Nelson and NZ hops. Nelson, by Alpine brewing was one of my favs when I had it several years ago. This one is even better. It showcases those wonderful NZ hope qualities, a floral and full bodied fruitiness of a white grape, well balanced in sweetness and highly aromatic. This beer also has a beautiful haziness that leads itself to a very creamy quality, complete with a thick cappuccino head. There is a lingering bitterness on the aftertaste leaving a bouquet of floral aromatics on the tongue, zero off flavors. The nice strong alcohol supports the body of the brew, but never overpowers the flavor.I believe it was Stone’s 17th Anniversary that also uses similar hops and flavor, I rated that one high too, but this one is near perfection for me. Glad it’s locally brewed, I couldn’t believe how much I loved it, these guys are one of the best NW Breweries

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a opaque, hazy dark caramel with a fine one finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, dank and tropical hops, pineapple, mango, orange and a little pine. Flavor is muddled mixed tropical and citrus fruit, a little grassiness, grapefruit rind, dank hops. Finishes with light grassy bitterness with a background of mixed fruit esters. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Clearly a hazy IPA profile, but with less distinct individual fruit flavors, although mixed fruit is the dominant note. There is also dankness, a hint of pine and grass. This rather tastes like its description of a triple dry hopped ale. The herbal hop flavors are interesting, but there is surprisingly light hop bitterness, even for the hazy style. Not my style (I was drawn in by the promised dankness), but a full flavored, if a little muddled hazy IPA. ABV well covered.
