Here's an experiment in aging: two years in the cold garage and then refrigerator, dated 03/26/2019. Pours a clear yellow-amber with nice cap of foam in the tumbler. Plenty of spritz on the tongue. Odd but pleasant cereal aroma, and if you think "cream" you will be forgiven.

It's sort of grainy and moderately sweet, and actually tastes like corn. I guess that is coffee I am tasting, or at least the bitterish aftertaste of same. Quite quaffable, though gets a little thin and bitter after some sipping. Might have been tasty in it's youth.

a really expert beer done with single origin coffee from ethiopia and from an apparently heady roaster, although i have not heard of them before. for one thing here, almost first and foremost, the base beer is way more than just a cream ale, its relatively yeast driven as they go, almost funky in a rustic saison sense, a character i am getting to know to be a sort of house flavor for these guys, and it makes this anything but a generic cream ale, even before the coffee, with more yeast layered in than most of these have, and some real funk to it, even though its clean, sort of agricultural and interesting, super fresh on the grain side. the coffee is well roasty and adds some depth to this, caramel notes emerge immediately, with dry cocoa and maple behind that, its coffee through and through, and the pure quality of it is radiant here, especially with the yeast element in the beer, such a cool synergy to the whole thing. i think the coffee is great. i want to drink a cup of it as much as i want another can of the beer, and i remain impressed with these guys overall. its complex as cream ale ever gets, its dry but not that light, and the coffee stays. i need this on the daily! three magnets is definitely becoming one of my favorites, and for a brewery i had never heard of a month ago, thats quite the feat. this is world class all the way, brilliant coffee taste, but the base beer is not the same old cream ale. pure fire!

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a medium golden amber with a half finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of light lager malt and coffee, slightly nutty. Flavor is pale and biscuit malt and drip coffee. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Tastes pretty much as expected, but the the coffee flavors dominate the cream ale base. The coffee is enjoyable, with clear coffee roast notes. I have found that although I really like coffee in darker styles like porters and stouts, it doesn't work that well for me in lighter ones. The delicate flavors of cream ale are hard to taste under the admittedly pleasant coffee notes in this one.
