Slight amber in hue, with a clean yet nuanced aromatic, la-bombe.fr features the malt and yeast, while the French Barbe Rouge hops contribute a soft strawberry aromatic. Interwoven flavors of fresh baked biscuits, sun dried alfalfa, and Grandma's strawberry jam.

another winner from these guys, who are rapidly climbing the ranks of my favorite breweries, i have seriously liked them all so far. cool can here, and a neat beer inside. a classic biere de garde type with a cool hop twist, an uncommon barbe rouge varietal that gives mellow berry tones to this, even a touch of sweetness with the malt, i like it a lot, and it has a very rustic vibe to it overall, even though its as professional and tidy as it is. a nice deep bronze color to this, tall white headed in the glass, and with very active carbonation. the yeast has saison characteristics, but is super mellow, light french spiciness, but also almost an english breadiness to it, especially with these fresh and unique earthy malts in here, definitely old worldy, perhaps a combination of strains, its mellow but different, and i like it a lot in this context. the hops are mild, but they stand out because they are so distinct, strawberries and honey come to mind, all on the swallow, and so perfect with the malt and the yeast. the flavors are almost delicate here for a beer that seems to hearty, agricultural, autumnal, thoughtful, even memorable. it explodes with carbonation, and is delicious overall. less wild and funky than a lot of their other beers in these saison styles, but i dont miss any brett or anything, its so good! i love what these guys are doing right now!

Lots of foam and color is a clear reddish orange in the Hopleaf goblet. Appears to be a sea of tiny bits of floaties, though. Best not to look. Aroma is musty and woody. Flavor is sweet and peculiar. Buttery and hints of hazelnuts and beans. There's even a hint of plastic. No details on what the theory behind this concoction is. From the 16 oz can purchased at the food co-op in Mt. Vernon, Wash.

Kool-Kid 16oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured an attractive, although cloudy, reddish-brown color with an inch of khaki-colored head that had very good retention and lacing.

Very nice malt and yeast scents greet the nose, giving some spice and floral notes.

Similar, but brighter, on the tongue. The smooth malts support the yeast kick very well.

The body was a touch on the light side of medium, smooth, and had a medium finish.

Drinkability was very nice, i could knock back a few more cans of this.

Overall, a pretty nice beer. Worth trying if you see it.
