another nice beer from these guys, ive become a huge fan, but its their fermentation forward stuff i have liked the best. this is good ipa, but it seems kind of mild, well balanced and all, but it doesnt really pop and its not particularly distinctive, which is quite the opposite of what i have come to expect from these guys. a little deeper color to this, not quite amber, but past pale, a rust color, with a little more sediment in the bottom third of the can and a lasting inch of shaving cream thick white head. the aroma and flavor are somewhat tame and even muted, grassy and piney botanical hops, fresh enough but seemingly lightly dosed for the style. the grain is fresh enough too, a light biscuit character to it, less sweetness than a lot of beers this color usually have, but also really relaxed in terms of taste. some minerals underneath it, a light starchy thing, lots of soft carbonation fluffing it up, and just a bit of bitterness in the finish. this is mellow, beer for drinking, not a statement piece as they go, and its nice to have a less in your face ipa like this from time to time. by no means their most compelling work, but i continue to be a huge three magnets fan!
