Edited 5/22/22 to note: there is now a whole line of Self Care beers by 3 Magnets. This was the original, I believe, and as such has no more elaborate name.
Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. This is billed as a "non-alcoholic IPA with Citra and Idaho 7" that "contains less than 0.5% ABV".
Appearance: light yellow-golden hue with a moderate haze and a thin finger of frothy white foam atop. I mean, it looks like a hazy IPA; what else can you ask for? Head retention is pretty limited, however.
Smell: light malt aroma with lots of green, grassy, vernal hop character. It's quite fresh-smelling, though rather light in volume; perhaps more akin to a pale ale than an IPA.
Taste: somewhere between unfermented wort and hop tea. There is a malt character, but it is very very light in character, and can't really stand up to the hops that are present. Don't get me wrong; for NA beer this is pretty much the best thing ever. But I don't think it quite stands up to the real deal.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and a pretty decent creaminess.
Overall: the more I drink this, I feel like it's developing kind of a phenolic, bubble-gum kinda flavor. But again, even that can't very well punch through the mass of hops present. For NA beer, though, it's damn good.
