This English-style cask mild is a brown beer with minimal head, light carbonation and toasty malt nose. It’s a very flavorful mild that balances its big grainy malt character with a bitter hop presence that seems to be a bit more assertive than other milds I’ve had in the past. The mouthfeel is medium to medium-light and it finishes dry with a lingering toasty malt and slightly bitter aftertaste. Overall, not my favorite version of the style, but a solid interpretation. I would have never guessed that it was poured from a cask, and for all I know, it might not have been.
