Can from Uptown Market.
Dark brown with a dense ,beige head with good retention and lacing. The nose is rich, smoky, reminiscent of the Schlenkerla Ur-bock, with smoke, sizzling bacon grease, beechwood smoke , burnt toast, burnt sugar, rich and deep. The palate opens smoky, clean, with burnt caramel, burnt toffee, bacon, a mild toasted oak character. While not as feral as a Schlenkerla, it hits some of the high notes just right. Drying, smoky with lingering smoke, burnt toast, honey and burnt sugar. Creamy mouthfeel. Lovely.
