Tap takeover at bar volo Lace sheet. Melange of hops that palate erase somewhat but still quaffable. Orange flavour and middle mouthfeel. Decent for style though not exceptional

Its murky amber orange hue reminds me of mulled apple cider. A creamy inch of white head gradually moves itself outwards, forming a sticky ring along the sides of the glass.
A fresh pineapple and mango smoothie. There's almost no other way to describe it. Thick, pulpy and sweet. A clean leafy green streak comes through the middle. Its high ABV is completely buried.
Gooey and juicy pineapple is pervasive. Its edges are green, leafy, and less refined. Smoothie textured mango combines with some banana phenols in the middle. The finish is semi-dry and quick with a subtle lingering bitternes and plenty of fresh biscuit.
I typically equate Belgians with effervescence and a snappy dryness and that's one of the reasons why this took me by surprise. Its reserved and rounded level of carbonation really emphasizes its delicious fruit smoothie texture. Its medium body is thick and satisfying. The 8.7% adds weight and nothing more.
Stone City knows how to do IPAs. Uncharted, Green Goddess, and now Mayday! serve as testaments to this fact. Like a well brewed Belgian, the alcohol content is completely hidden. Pineapple and mango are the defining characteristics of this beer. How their rendered in a thick, smoothie texture is what makes this Belgian IPA exceptional for me.
