Poured from a 500ml bottle.
Pours brilliantly clear and deep golden, a bit light for the style. White head that lingers for a while, and some lacing.
Nosing requires some effort, but you do pick up and a faint amount of honey and vanilla.
Tastes of cereal up front supported by malt sweetness. The hop character comes in quickly and is relegated almost exclusively to bitterness, which is pronounced, but does offer a hint of citrus peel. A decent amount of acidity is in there to provide some lift. Retronasal offers up additional notes of bread crust.
Medium-bodied with a medium dose of carbonation. The finish is very, very long and the aftertaste is mostly hop bitterness rather than malt, so it's closer to a Pils in my books.
Overall, I enjoyed it but the bitterness overwhelmed things a bit. There was more of an impression of an English ale than something lagered.
