Poured from a growler, 15 minutes or so after it came from the tap, the libation was opaque, with a contrastingly light--almost white--head of variegated bubbles. There was a handsome but short-lived roiling updraft of carbonation as the head built, giving the beer an appearance of viscosity.
The beer's light aroma was sweet and woody. Its flavor was surprisingly complex, but immediately fetching, inviting an ample, lengthy initial draft. Bitterness was restrained, but sufficient to leaven a substantial evident maltiness, and impart a character that was slightly more savory than sweet. The beer's texture was really superb: more velvety than expected in something this quaffable. I'll be back for more.
