Pours a cloudy, deep, dark golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells quite intensely of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt, tropical/citrus hops and pine.Taste is a good balance slightly sweet biscuity, caramel malt and bitter, resinous hops, with tropical/citrus notes of mango, pineapple and grapefruit, as well as quite a bit of pine coming through. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some tropical/citrus hops and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

A rather nice West Coast Pale Ale, especially for a supermarket brand. Then again, at over 6% ABV, this really is an IPA rather than a Pale Ale. Nevertheless it's still an enjoyable brew with a good balance of sweet malt and resinous, fruity hops, with quite a pronounced, piney bitterness. Although the body and mouthfeel is perhaps a bit lacking, it's really not too bad though.
