Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed amber color with a one finger head of off-white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a touch of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a caramel and lightly toasted malty smell, mixed with some aromas of a brown sugar and molasses. Along with these smells come a little bit of apple and pear.
Taste- The taste begins with a malty and lightly toasted brown bread flavor mixed with sweetness of brown sugar and caramel. At the same time there is a little bit graininess and some cherry, both of which get weaker as the taste advances. Toward the end a very light herb and nut come to the tongue, leaving one with a malty but smooth taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is heavier and thicker with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the style the feel is good and makes for an easy sipper.
Overall – A pretty decent wee heavy. Easy drinking with a nice flavor.

Served in a large goblet. Black as night. Great mouth feel. Hints of chocolate and coffee in the initial tasting. Very warming on the swallow. Paired well with fresh broiled seafood.
