"Gose Melon." 6% ABV.
CAN:
Twangy and tart despite plenty of mellow melon tones. Watermelon jolly rancher/watermelon-flavored artifice is prominent, but there's also acidic bacterial flavour and plenty of acetic acid. Maybe butyric acid too.
Not as genuine in flavour or refreshing as one would hope. Compares unfavorably to Anderson Valley's fruited gose beers, but it's not a bad brew by any stretch. The salt and coriander don't really come through, which is what really holds this attempt at a gose back.

16oz beer to go/crowler, tulip, consumed the day after pickup.
Golden and ever so slightly hazed. Surprisingly there was a swirl of white bubbles as I poured.
Subtle watermelon, though there is a whiff of Jolly Rancher that I find to be a good thing. Perhaps because watermelon is my favorite flavor of the tried and true hard candy. It's fresh and conjures up images of a juicy slice; a green waxy half moon dripping pale pink juice. Also wheat and acidity in small doses.
Initially it bites you with that lactic acidity, but that's quickly followed by the fresh watermelon flavor that carries you through to a crisp and slightly biting finish where the acidity reminds you who's boss. Again, there's a bit of pale malt character.
Somehow this final can of the three I picked up yesterday is the most carbonated. Medium-low body with medium carbonation makes for a crisp and refreshing beer.
Gose Malone certainly salvaged this trip to Panther Island Brewing. This is tasty summer sipping with delicious real fruit flavor complementing a well crafted beer.
