Appearance; Pours a dark mahogany brown , with only faint ruby highlights before a strong light, and crowned by a small, dense tan head, with good retention. Thin, fine-beaded lacing coats the glass walls in large patches.
Aroma: Roasted coffee beans are prominent in the aroma, as well as toasted malt, cold coffee, caramel, brown sugar and a bit of wood. The alcohol is quite subtle.
Taste: Begins with a strong note of cold coffee, As the taste progresses, bitter cocoa and burnt notes appear. The alcohol,, with a rather high ABV of ten point five percent, mainly presents as a pleasing warmth. Late in the taste, roasted malt, char, bitter coca and cold coffee dominate, with a slight flush of vanilla. Finishes with a lingering medicinal and metallic hop bitterness.
Mouth feel: Very full and soft, with delicate carbonation. No doubt the oatmeal increases the fullness of the body.
Drinkability/notes: Really quite good, a pleasing "cold weather sipper" and a good pairing for chocolate desserts.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a la Fin du Monde tulip.

Pour is beautiful black with a huge, dense, fluffy dark khaki head. Excellent retention and lacing.
Nose is fresh cold brewed coffee over dark roasted malts, hints of vanilla.
Taste is coffee, roasted malt, hints of vanilla, chocolate.
Moderate body, lower carbonation. smooth and easy to drink. Good beer; reminds me a bit of Founders Breakfast Stout (though not as good).

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown color with a small head of brown colored foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strong of a coffee and roasted malt smell mixed with a whole lot of caramel and brown sugar. Along with these smells comes a little bit of cocoa and a touch of vanilla and cola.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasty and toasty malt flavor mixed with a sweet coffee flavor. The sweet coffee has sweetness of caramel and molasses, as well as a bit of toffee. At the same time there is a light vanilla flavor as well as a touch of crème. As the taste advances the roastiness fades a tad all while some light nut and char flavors come to the tongue. With a little bit more bitterness coming at the very end, one is left with a moderately sweet and moderately roasty, but fairly coffee heavy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew slightly thinner for a 10.5 % abv. stout with a carbonation level that is lower. The low carbonation is great, but a thicker body may have been slightly better for the flavors. Overall, the feel is decent and makes for a fairly easy sipper.
Overall – An alright coffee based stout. Worth a try, but one I don’t think I would go back to again.
