A malt forward, medium bodied lager. This easy to enjoy beer is named after West Virginia’s very own Vienna.

16 ounce can poured into a Spiegelau wheat beer glass.

L: Amber-brown lively pour, a touch hazed, off-white head, fairly persistent foam.
S: Bready malt nose, light fruity esters .
T: Big malty flavor, bread and caramel, hints of pome fruit, a little woody hop bitterness keeps the malt in check on the back.
F: Creamy medium-weight body, medium carbonation gives a small crisp bite.
O: Full malt flavor, very Märzen-like, a pleasure to drink.

16oz can

On the pour, 2 fingers of off white head formed then became fizzy and rocky then gradually dissipated. Body is a dark amber to brown and is s bit hazy.

Aroma isn't as clean as I would like with some fruity/yeasty notes coming through. A touch of roasted malt but this needs to be cleaner.

The taste brings a bit of redemption with a solid roasty toasty malt, that brings some dark chocolate notes before the German lager finishing flavor hits. Still a bit fruity but not bad.

Feel is drinkable and full, which makes sense for the ABV. Easy to put down and almost refreshing, but with a long finish.

Overall this comes off as somewhere between a brown ale and an actual dark lager. Definitely not bad, but it could be refined.
