On tap at the Surf 'N' Suds Beer Festival held at Carpenteria State Beach in Carpenteria, CA.
Pours a hazy dark orange with a foamy orange-tan head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, rye, tea, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, rye, tea, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and rye bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice balance between the rye and all of the other qualities I am getting.
