Consumed at the brewery on November15th, 2014.
Proper looks in this one: clear medium yellow with long-lasting off-white head. Plenty of lacing and retention all the way down.
Nose is very hoppy with bold notes of pepper and pine.
Flavor is all about hops. Plenty of hop bite up front (white pepper and almost a warm cinnamon note) with some floral and pine traces on the finish. Low malt character to the point of indistinguishability. Lingering bitterness despite the relatively low 44 IBUs claimed on the menu.
Plenty of carbonation bite on the tongue; tingly without going over into burning or parching.
This is a hefty pale ale, far more assertive and hop-forward than the benchmark Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I would drink this again.
