500 ml bottle into a flute glass. 2016 edition, had 11/30/17.
Pours a deep reddish brown, opaque, with not much of a head and no lacing. Smells somewhat sour. Aromas of malt, cherries, plums, brown mustard, figs, brown sugar, molasses, dates, wood, light red wine. The taste is similar- malt, cherries, salt, plums, brown mustard, molasses, wood- hickory, I would guess, some figs and red wine, light smoke. No real sourness, a savory flavor overall, a little heat on the finish- I have no idea from what. Smooth. A good but lighter body for the style, appropriately carbonated.
Really liked this. Complex and layered flavors and aromas. The smoked sea salt is a great addition.
