A very special bottle release, we barrel-aged FLANNEL SURFING, our Belgian Style Quad Ale, in Rye Whiskey barrels from KOVAL Distillery based in Chicago for 6+ months. The aromas of the rye whiskey blend so nicely with the maltiness and sweetness from the beer. The flavors of honey, toffee, caramel and Candi syrups, along with the subtle notes of chocolate dance among the barrel flavors along with the bubbly effervescent.

Medium blackish brown body with a tan cap. Rye whiskey percolates out of an aroma bouquet of gooey caramel and candi sugar, dark fruit, oak, earth and belgian yeast. Taste is very barrel forward, rye and oak especially bite into the sweet elements, but booze reinforces. Feel is warm verging on hot, somewhat syrupy, chewy, yeast comes in to save the day, and boozy.
