HELA is the last in the three part series this year that features strong protagonist characters in literature and pop culture, with HELA focusing on power, strength, speed. This bottle release is a special one as it is a blend of KATNISS (Imperial Stout barrel-aged in Heaven Hill bourbon whiskey barrels) and of FURIOSA (Imperial Stout barrel-aged in Basil Hayden's bourbon whiskey barrels). Those two Imperial Stouts spent two full years barrel aging in their respcective barrels, with another year of extended aging. She drinks silky smooth as it is a low carbonation beer best served at 45 to 50 degrees and meant to be enjoyed slowly (think of it like a bourbon on the rocks). Aromas of bourbon mostly of Basil Hayden's, caramel/coconut, sweet toffee and chocolate fill the rim of your glass and consistently evolve as the beer warms. Flavors of dark bakers chocolate, bourbon and barrel finish will fill the void left from the aromas.

Slate black body with a brown ring. Huge barrel character abounds in both the smell and taste. In the smell I get big caramel and oak with the bourbon leading, with fudge, earth and a hint of black strap molasses. Taste is not as smooth, barrel is huge and boozy but harsh and hot in the finish, chocolate is less defined as simple baker's chocolate, caramel is very sweet but gets burned up. Feel is hot, sharp, thick, lighter bodied, and slightly chewy. Needs some refinement in the blending balance
