Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a fine bone white head with decent retention was present. Light fine carbonation is present in a straw yellow, clear body. Minor lacing is left.
Aroma has some nice crackery/biscuity malts going right out front and a crisp but slightly spicy traditional German pils aroma. Low sulfur and smells good and light.
Taste is pretty close to the aroma, but it doesn't build on it at all. A big bittering hop is present that tastes noble, but it feels like just a bit too much in terms of hopping. Slight diacetyl is present, but if I'm picking it up ots probably too much. I expected a bit more from the preceding aroma.
Feel is full, but crisp, and has a drier finish then expected from "mid sip mouthfeel". It goes from a full bodied almost mouthcoating feel then quickly drops into a dry attenuated finish. Honestly a bit confusing but light enough overall to carry the style pretty well.
Overall, after their kolsch and schwarzbier, this was a bit disappointing. If this was a stand alone it might've been rated higher, but after a few drafts here I had my expectations set a bit higher than this could meet.
