Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a one finger purpleish pink head was present on top of an intensely hazy pomegranate juice looking liquid. The head dissipates to a thin ring after a few minutes.
Aroma is a bit confusing. A tart purple berry is very present on the nose but there is a bit of earthy verging on Metallic on the nose as well. Not much else on the nose but this is very literally juicy with a hint of funk.
Taste follows the aroma a touch, but there Is a bit of a savory/pastry desert note in there that comes out more and more in the finish. That is honestly possibly the source of the earthy aromas. Not the most sour beer I've ever had, but on the front there is a strong berry flavor that is pretty nice. There is also a definite bitterness that balances the sweetness, but also overwhelms the sourness making this an overall pretty sweet beer.
Feel is smooth and mouthcoating. Almost smoothie like, but lacking pure. A long but dry finish is present thanks to the unrestrained fruits.
Overall this is a decent experimental beer, and for the most part there isn't anything off about it, but some of the ingredients don't melt the best. I wish this one was a bit more sour based on the sheer amount of fruit flavor, but there is some pastry flavor that comes off as a bit of an afterthought.
