I enjoyed this on tap at Moeder Lambic
The color is black as night with thick tan cream and fine bead with lots of lace. The smell has a mix of dark brown sugar and slight coffee with a mild toffee aspect sweet roast with mild spice and woody hop odors. The feel has dank resin from hops with roast and bitterness balanced with medium body and carbonation. The mid palate is bitter with moderate roasted and semi-dry finish which is somewhat bitter.
The taste is very good with a mix of cocoa and coffee from the malt with hops trailing with some slight woody and herbal flavor with dry roastd grain flavor and very tangy citrus hop flavors with slight grapefruit aspect in the finish and residual malt flavor which is slightly sweet. Over this is a very good stout -almost teeters on the style line between black Ipa and strong American stout - nicely hoppy yet still a decent amount of roast which subtle alcohol. I consider this a very drinkalble dark ale.
