45cl on-tap at Brewdog Bacelona (€5.00):
A disappointment really, I expected a fresh & hoppy beer with lots of tropical flavours & a caramel sweetness. There was some hops & caramel showing early on & it seemed fresh enough but in truth it wasn't enough & everything seemed a little weak & subdued; it was thinner than I'd have liked too. Touches of vanilla towards the end of the taste helped some but it wasn't enough to save the beer or make me want to try it again; not one that I'd recommend sadly.

Russet-amber with yolky film. 3.75
Some hoppy floral notes but heavy caramel, too. 3.75
Chewy toffee then some mild Cascade floral-citrus notes. 3.5
Almost med, round, chewy. 3.75
Catalan pale ales don’t really know how to go easy on the malt, so expectations managed. And with a June BBD, this is at least 6 months from bottling. Given all that, it’s impressive it maintains any orangey zest. Still, the caramel is sour and it’s marmalade citrus at best so I won’t seek this again. 3.5

Ale appears to be clear and tan. Aromas of malt, orange peel and spicy hops. Tastes of citrus and spicy hops, well-balanced with crystal malts. Butterscotch finish. Light-bodied, sessionable tasty ale.
Would I buy it again? Probably.
