500ml bottle from SuperValu, Fermanagh (£2.50):
Hazy orange with a 1cm, bubbly white head that's a creamy texture on the top well, the head retention was good too. It's a muted nose for the style with more biscuit malts & earthy notes than anticipated, there's some light pine & citrus notes too with some grassy touches rounding things off but the nose was definitely too light. The taste is more pronounced with pine hops & light tropical touches coming through, with an hint of caramel malt along with some citrus & floral flavours. It's a well carbonated beer with a medium body & a slightly dry finish that has a lingering bitterness to it. Overall it was a poor start but things improved slightly further on.

CAN
Hazy brass with steady white carpet. 4
Soft grain, grass, melon, and lemon zest. 3.75
Multigrain cereal, touch of caramel, whack of grapefruit, touches of mint and honeydew, and orange Squash ending. 3.75
Light plus, round, slight stick. 3.75
Definitely getting UK shapes - some crystal brings sweetness that doesn't need to be there at 4.7%, and the hops are all diffuse, lemon-barley type thing. "West Coast IPA" is farcical, but it - intentionally or not - lines up as a session IPA, albeit a grainy one. Bobbles the vault but sticks the landing. 4
