As far as a bottle shop in the city of Pittsburgh, this is the place right now. The only way I would go somewhere else would be if I was really desparate and needed a beer fix, or if I am looking to get more beer ofcourse(case, or 12 pack- would go to a distributor). If you are looking for those large fancy bottles of beer, or get smaller amounts of good quality beer this is the place. They don't seem to keep old bottles lying around like many others - i.e.- Dee's Six Packs and Dogs, House of 1000's beer, It's Dog'n It and various other grocery stores that sell beer in the area. The other essential thing is that they have dedicated people that work at the beer counter. No people that are in the meat section and just occasionally stroll by to see if anyone needs help like other grocery stores. The other thing is that they seem to pick the best of the best, which means the staff must know there stuff. Yep, if I need a set of fancy bottles I am there!

I like this location. It has a better selection of beers than other Giant Eagles iv been to within city limits. It also has a draft system and Starbucks. I heard good things about the settlers ridge locations so im going there next to compare

Nice setup smaller selection than the Giant Eagle Market District Robinson, but I saw some great stuff all of the 750 ml special Belgian style ales from Goose Island the first time I went in. Big display area in the center walking back toward the coolers there's individual bottles on shelves with a smaller selection of cold big bottles separately. Tap selection was small but quality from what I saw, no growlers for me. I stopped in twice to this store, I can't wait to visit again there's always something special down there in Shadyside that's not carried out at Market District.

You can tell a place is on the ups when the beer guy is covered in tattoos.
The selection here was always good, but things seem to be a step above other Giant Eagles now. I got a growler of Hop Frenzy by Helltown recently, which I thought was a nice find. Beyond the growler selection, there are a lot of singles to choose from. I suppose the selection here is more diverse as the area can, and does, support it. Not sure if it's on the level of the Settler's Ridge Giant Eagle, but it's a good selection.
