The brewery calls this an "Imperial Red", I found this beer to have a lot of characteristics of a Dubbel, keep that in mind if you read this. Served in a tulip, the beer had a dark, rich reddish-amber-mahogany color with 3/4 inch of khaki colored head that had very good retention and lacing.
The aroma was malty, grainy, fruity and had a touch of alcohol. The flavor had a lot of rich dark stone fruit flavors, cherry and plum, and some yeast and spice tones at the finish.
The body was full and rich, it completely coated the tongue and lingered without being sticky. Drinkability was near perfect, a great beer to relax with at the end of the day, or with a great meal. Overall, a beer really worth your time, seek it out.

This beer has a sweet malty taste and a punchy hop flavor to it that I was not necessarily expecting. The aroma is a bit hard to pull out, but smells vaguely of toasty malt and caramel. The beer is a dark amber color that has a touch of haze to it and is topped by a wispy amber-tan colored head. This beer is really quite sweet; it is not quite sticky or syrupy, but still noticeably sweet. This sweetness really accentuates a fruit character that reminds me of berries, raisins and red grapes. This beer is actually fairly hoppy (for some reason I was expecting a bit more malt focus); the hops contribute some herbal notes and more berry notes as well. The finish has a lingering bitterness to it as well as a touch of warming character from the alcohol.
