This beer pours light brown with a slight copper hue, with a small off-white head with less than moderate retention and average lacing. The smell is all focused on the malt, with no real hint of hoppiness, and the taste is focused in the same way. There is a substantial caramelly taste with hints of molasses and a creamy, smooth mouthfeel. This beer comes across as a perfect session beer, so much so that I'm kind of mystified. The beer is 4.4% alcohol by weight, which divided by the density of ethyl alcohol (4.4% abw รท 0.79 = 5.57% abv) is a 5.5 beer. That said, I had several of these and felt totally unaffected by the alcohol. Be careful, as always, but see if it treats you the same.
