Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug. This is an oatmeal IPA.
Appearance: moderately murky orange hue with a thin layer of ivory foam atop. Color is great, though I'd love a little more head.
Smell: bright and citrusy with a lot of orangey hop aromas. I really like it.
Taste: orangey hops, with just enough sharp bitterness to let you know this is an IPA. The malt base is mildly sweet, and the oats add a nice, interesting touch, which really comes through on the aftertaste. An interesting beer, and a good execution on oatmeal IPA.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a light-to-moderate carbonation and decent creaminess. I bet with a little more carbonation, the oatmeal would add a good creaminess here.
Overall: I like this beer a lot. It grows on me with each sip -- the fresh orange flavor, the subtle oat contribution -- I'm really digging it.
