This free-form specialty beer uses everything on the shelf including two types of sugar, unmalted wheat, and flaked oats. Despite such mayhem, Malaprop succeeds as a worthy tribute to the Belgian Abbey style. It is dark sorrel with Belgian phenolic spice and a solid flavor of spiced malt.
Big Time serves Malaprop in a 12-oz. tulip glass where it enjoys visual elegance. Ideal as a spirited winter ale with a fresher taste than you're likely to get from bottled imports.
