A hybrid style incorporting the best of both continents: Franco-Belgie pale, aromatic, and kilned coffee malts, Pacific Northwest Simcoe, Cascade, Chinook and Mt, Hood hops, and a blend of Belgian and Big Time yeasts. An upfront bitterness is matched by malt complexity, while yeast phenolics dance to spicy, citric hop notes.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a cloudy yellowish orange-amber color with no real head and just a faint bit of lace.

The aroma was very hop forward, a bit sweet, some spicy yeast and a hint of wheat, even though there's no wheat in the beer. On the tongue the spicy yeast is upfront with the bold hops coming in a little after. Again, there's a slight wheatiness to the beer and an interesting flavor that I couldn't place.

The body was good, a bit lighter than full, and coated the tongue well without being sticky. Drinkability was good, I'd have this quirky beer again. Worth trying if you're in the area.
