They call this an "Imperial Rye." ABV is listed at 7.5% and IBUs are 60. Clear classic amber color in the pint shaker. Great tangy taste with that resiny, zingy rye flavor. Malty body. Bitterish with that sensational scratchy rye taste.
Bitter aftertaste, but not excessive. Sweet and distinctive with a strong intriguing flavor. Lots of caramel that dries out toward the finish. Hugely drinkable. Another taste beer among the zillions that Big Time cranks out. On tap at the northeast Seattle brewpub. [notes from 11/20/2013 visit]

Had on tap at Brouwers.
A: Served in a pint glass, the beer was a hazy amber color with a one finger egg-white head on top. Decent head retention and lacing.
S: Not much in the way of rye or spices on the aroma, but plenty of floral hops and some light citrus fruit.
T: Similar to the aroma with some citrus upfront and some grassy hops with a bit more of the rye coming through on the flavor profile than on the aroma.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation, rather smooth.
O: A good DIPA, was hoping for a bit more spice from the rye though.

Had on tap at Big Time. Listed as an Imperial Rye IPA.
Poured into a 12 oz. tulip a cloudy orangish-amber with a fluffy off-white head that left a web of lacing down the glass. Quite an attractive looking beer - enticing in fact.
The aroma was not as pungent as I was expecting in an imperial rye IPA. Earthy and floral with just a whiff of sweet rye.
The flavor followed the nose with an earthy, herbal and floral hop bite that was quickly consumed by the spicy and sweet rye. A bit dry on the finish.
Impressive mouthfeel. Medium-bodied and a crisp amount of carbonation to hold up the hop and rye. Bit boozy, though, with a burn in the back of the throat.
Flavorful concoction by the folks at Big Time. It's a bit more boozy than I would normally want, so I don't think I'd have more than a couple of these in a sitting.
