Part of Big Time's Thursday infusion series, this was brewed for International IPA Day.
Served on-tap at Big Time Brewing in Seattle, WA. August 4th, 2011.
A: The beer poured a hazy amber color with a thick head of foam that quickly dissipated down to a thin cap on top. Thick heavy lacing clung to the glass throughout.
S: Strong aroma of pine with a slight hint of pineapple lingering in the background. Malt was not noticeable.
T: There is an initial wave of bitter pine followed by a strong pineapple finish that mellows out the sip. Extremely light caramel malt in the background that works very well with the pineapple.
M: Creamy mouth feel that becomes sticky and oily as you swallow. There is a strong bitterness to this beer, but it is extremely pleasant thanks to the pineapple finish.
O: Very refreshing IPA thanks to the infusion of pineapple. I'm not sure which of their IPAs this began as, but I really enjoyed it. The initial bitter taste is extremely well balanced by the pineapple finish. I really hope that Big Time considers making this again.
