Pours straw colored with a couple fingers head.
Sweet smell.
Powerful taste. Hoppy, bitter. Complex. It’s a bit rough, but drinkable.
Wouldn’t classify it as an abbey style ale. It’s good, but when there’s Cereal Killer and Old Wooly on, there are better options. Not a huge fan of hoppy Belgian style beers, dichotomous styles, just doesn't work here.

I had this on-tap in a tulip glass at the brewery.
Appearance: rich golden hue with a bit of haze and a good finger of ivory foam which leaves a nice full lace.
Smell: very yeasty, Belgiany aroma with a good amount of banana and other estery compounds. Decent.
Taste: rich malty flavor with plenty of yeasty character -- a spicy banana like flavor is there. This beer is also quite grainy and hoppy, with noble/earthy hops throughout and a big bitterness. I like it but it is a bit of an unfocused mess.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this beer is decent but I don't love this particular flavor profile. It also could use some overall refinement.

A: Poured a golden orange color and advertised as a Grand Cru
S: Booze and candy w. apples and pears
T: Starts out with heat and a huge candy sweetness, overly sweet with remnants of pears, green apples. It tasted like a extra boozy, mediocre Trippel
M: Very sweet, well carbonated but nothing impressive.
O: Average and would not order again
