This place looks like a sports bar (it actually is a sports bar) but it's pretty cool. The area itself is nice (quite yuppy though) and the bar is located in an old house with nice old walls. The atmosphere is cozy but not snobby. The frog-based decoration may be a bit cheesy, but that's the brewpub's name, so I guess they don't have the choice. A candle on every wooden table. Hmmm.
My language-issue at the Frog: first, they can't speak Spanish, since they advertise one of their cocktail saying it is "mucha buena". Whatever. I found it a little lame that everything was written in English. I ordered one of the beers pronouncing its name in a French way, and the waitress was like: oh, you mean xxx, with her American accent. I don't know, that was annoying.
The place wass almost empty when I went, yet one of the waiter kept walking around stressing me out, and also made a point of asking me to pay after each beer. Not the greatest sign of confidence in your customers, when I'm in the middle of the place that's empty, with 5 waiters around and no way for me to leave without paying.
Last but definitely not least, prices are steep, if not ridiculous. 4 euros for a half pint??? They don't have samplers, so if you want to taste a few beers without drinking too much, it gets really expensive. Happy hours are decent, 4.5 euros a pint instead of 6. What is annoying is that they make you pay so much for half a pint. Not a very responsible business practice...
I won't go back there unless it's happy hour, or unless I'm with several people and we can share a pitcher. Even for parisian standards, this is expensive.
