Served on-draught into a pint glass in Kuopio, Finland. Reviewed from notes. Cost was 7.50 euro.
A: One finger wide. White colour. Nice frothiness. 4 minute retention. Light lacing sticks to the sides of the glass as the head recedes. Soft complexion.
Body is a dark copper of below average vibrance. No yeast or sediment is visible.
Looks nice for what it is. Not unique or special.
Sm: Odd hop profile; it's a bit floral and twiggy. Lightly herbal. Pale malts.
No yeast character, alcohol, or off-notes are detectable.
Aromatic intensity is average.
Seems neither too bitter nor too sweet.
T/Mf: Twiggy, floral, and a bit resinous. The backbone is, predictably, comprised of pale malts. Has an odd juniper-like dryness. It's smooth and well-carbonated. Medium-bodied, with adequate heft and weight on the palate Coating and creamy.
Balance could be better. The hop profile is underwhelming. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.
I find no yeast or alcohol.
Lacks a harmony of mouthfeel and taste. I do like it in a general sense, but it leaves much to be desired in terms of complexity, subtlety, and depth.
O: Drinkable and enjoyable, but ar from unique or special. I do like it, and it's interesting for an American Ale - but I wouldn't pay 7.50 euro again.
