Who said stouts are filling? Many who said they don't like stouts have changed their minds after giving the O'Sullivan Stout a try.
The O'Sullivan Stout is our take on a classic dry stout with chocolate and coffee highlights. Oatmeal gives it added depth and flavor. Yum!

On tap at the brewery. Not feeling the strip mall vibes - love Ireland, but just a hodge-podge atmosphere. Stout was bland.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was dark brown close to black color. Light film of a little white foamy head sat atop and fell off at a moderate pace. Sly lace. The aroma had some rugged roasty coffee beans, burnt toast, crisp wafer/cracker sweet tones, light milk chocolate and ended with some sweet oats. The flavor leaned into the roast fairly hard and didn’t allow too much sweetness to come out. Fairly nice aftertaste of the coffee as it didn’t seem too rugged here. Finished with some of that ruggedness of the coffee and burnt toast. The feel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation felt good, though. Perhaps it was how the coffee came across. Not that smooth at all but wasn’t acidic. Overall, wonder how fresh this bottle is because I wouldn’t mind letting another age as the coffee seemed a bit too roasty.

A - Poured a dark brown with a thin mocha head that fades to leave thin halo and light wisps.
S - Aromas of dry chocolates, light roasted malts.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, nice chocolate, good dry roasted malts. Quite pleasant.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, smooth.
O - Overall this beer was really straightforward to the style. Solid.

Light head, very dark pretty much black color.
Nose is classic Irish stout, little powered cocoa and choc, creamy dried lactose, little roasty faint char, light bitter hop.
Taste again pretty classic, nice charred roasted toasted malts, more powdered cocoa, little chocolate and dried creamy lactose, little bitter from roast and hop presence. Dry finish, little creamy lactose nice bitterness lingering.
Mouth is med bod, decent creamy, light carb.

Bottle from Bert’s Solid dark brown/black color with a khaki head. Coffee light cream and hints of earth. Light flavorful easy drinking stout, I quite enjoyed it.

Reddish edging to the brownish black body, brown foam head. Smells of dark chocolate, roasted malt and light coffee bean. Taste is much the same only has an oaty underpinning, earth too. Feel is thinner for sure but very smooth and dry, borderline crisp. Well rounded and crushable

From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on January 25, 2015.
Deep brown to near black pour with a full tan head. Opaque.
Wow! The aromas are alive with smoke, coffee grinds, roasted malts, but thin on the hops. Still, I feel like I am standing next to my wood stove.
About a medium body.
The taste is malty and smoky. Dry finish. Not much in the way of hops but I love the smokiness. The smokier the better as far as I am concerned.
