Poured into a mug, the appearance was a fairly dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Slight messy lace. The aroma had swift sweet coffee beans, slightly like espresso, cocoa powder, light roast. Crisp wafer-like character. The flavor blended all of the previously mentioned aromas sweetly together. Sly aftertaste of the sweet chocolate. Finishes fairly sweet and smooth. The feel was between light and medium on the body. Some sessionability to it. Low carbonation. ABV felt fine. Really smooth along my tongue. Overall, lots of sweetness in this one through the blend of coffee and chocolate. Not sure about more pours for me. Maybe.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on April 7, 2016

It pours dark brown to black with a lingering but small tan head

The aroma do bring out some coffee characteristics but it is as if the coffee has been sweetened by half and half. Low hop profile.

Light body and a little astringent.

The taste brings out a cream-sweetened coffee character and a bitterness at the end that was rather unexpected.

Here is another beer that Johnnniee and I have reviewed. Sometimes he adds one and sometimes I do. Yes, we have run into each other brewfests. It is kind of cool to meet a fellow BA member from time to time.

Bottle from Francestown General Store
Dark brown/black with a creamy bubbly tan head that persists. Roasty earthy with a light coffee. Light caramel and chocolate. Honestly less coffee flavor and aroma than I was expecting, but its a pretty good beer.

Little foamy creamy head, very dark pitch black beer.

Nose light roasty coffee, caramel creamy, roasted malt, faint cocoa, biscuity.

Taste burnt acrid coffee, roasty, acidic, caramel, biscuity, faint char and toffee, dried lactose too, little bitterness. Finish thin but sticky, little bitter and roasted acrid coffee

Mouth is thin, light carb.

Enjoyed at the brewery.

A - Poured a dark brown with a thin thin head that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Aromas of strong coffee, nice chocolate, good faint roast.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, light chocolate and sweet malts. Very thin tasting.

M - Mouthfeel is very thin, watery, lightly carbonated.

O - Overall this beer was rather thin, very lackluster.
