It’s worth noting that with Coronavirus mayhem and it being a Sunday afternoon, I couldn’t expect any crazy vibes. That being said, Punta Gorda is a small, retiree-centric town and this is a pleasant addition to the community. Service was decent and friendly albeit a tad slow, but I need to give Fat Point credit for a very well-varied beer selection. French-style, Belgian, IPAs, stouts, winter warmers.. there was a little bit of everything for every palate, and the quality was solid for such a small operation. Definitely worth checking out!

Just off US 17 & I-75. Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Nice to see Punta Gorda has people under 80 for a change.
$5 pints of 10 different brews ($6 snifter of the high ABV selections) and growler fills, too.
Friendly staff knows the brews.
Beers range from a session lager & a California common to Barleywine & a Belgian tripel. Flights are just $8 for 4 5 ounce pours.
And they have a kitchen. Flatbreads, pizzas, salads and a big chili dog to soak up the alcohol.
I'll be back.

This was the best stop on our tour of SW Florida. The owner gave us the tour so were really able to get a feel for his passion and vision. The facility was very nice, the pizza was good, and the beer excellent. If you are in the Ft. Myers area, it is definitely worth the short trip north to Punta Gorda.

First craft brewery in the area. The building is just designed great. I loved the layout, the decor, the music and the bartender we had. He quickly waited on us, no problems. Interesting choices on tap for January. They had 8 total and each taster flight was four beers each. While, I'm not remotely in the mood for a pumpkin saison this time of year, I still had it; it was fine. Just not the seasonal I was looking for. There is some kind of batch inconsistency though. I got a can of big boca common ale, had one at a local bar, and had one at the tasting room. They are all good, but they were three different beers. I'll be interested to watch how this place comes along as my parents live in the area. With the kegs, cans, and tasting room, they clearly have the right footprint.

The place was clean and the beers were good but the service was horrible. It wasn't very crowded but sat at our table for 10 minutes with no waitresss. I finally went to the bar to get our beers. The staff was friendly they just didn't seem very concerned if they waited on you or not.

Our waitress was very knowledgeable, the pizza was good and the beer selections were good too. Would like to see a porter or wee heavy on the menu. We will be back!

Off the beaten path. The service can't be beat, and the beers are unique. A definite worthwhile visit if you're in the Punta Gorda area.

It's been a few months since their taphouse has opened and I have to say, it's the best in SWFL I've been to. It has a better vibe than Fort Myers BC or Point Ybel and the physical facilities are great. It's a more industrial look, but windows afford you a view of where the brewing happens, so it fits. The concrete counters, along with the wood and metal theme, is very fitting. This afternoon, with a fairly light load thanks to some rainy weather, the service was fast and efficient and they dealt quickly with a short power outage as we tried to pay the bill.

They have 10 beers on tap any given day, usually about 6 or 7 of everyday kolschs, IPAs, and hefeweizens, along with a rotating selection of tripels, biere garde, barleywine, etc. The quality is quite good. Their specialty rotating beers were the best (Bru Man Chu (tripel) and Jazz Hands (biere de garde) for today, but everything was very good. Their apricot hefe was strong on the apricot, but still managed to present the banana/clove notes you expect, so they've got their beer figured out. It helps that they have 3 brewing setups: one for testing, one for small batches, and one for production-level brewing.

Craft beer is quickly picking up in SWFL, but it's still a few steps behind. For the available options in the area, Fat Point is definitely worth the drive north from the Fort Myers/Cape Coral/Naples area or south from Sarasota.

Makes 8 beers at a time. Keeps four on draft. The decor feels a lot like you're in you're buddy's garage. Bartender was rude, waiter was rude. Brew master said hops were a Vine, asked if he meant Bine...he said no they're a vine. Asked what techaniques they use to keep the same flavor profile from batch to batch...he said "the flavor actually varies each time we run a batch". I swear they probably use extract, however I saw spent grain and I did not see the extract, I just never met a brewmaster/guide that I couldn't learn from until I visited Fat Point.

Really nice facility in brand new building. U-shaped bar in the middle of the room has multiple tvs. Back wall has windows for view of brewing facility. Sleek modern design coupled with industrial touches.
The beers are very well done but I didn't have anything that knocked my socks off. Small food menu was well prepared but a little pricey.
This is definitely a cool place to visit in PG.

Fat Point is just what Southwest Florida needed. Their comfortable tap room creates the perfect layout to enjoy their wide-range of excellent craft brews, and their staff is so inviting. I can't wait to see what else this brewery comes up with!
