Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark brown color with a little white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Delicate lace. The aroma had a big dose of roasted nuts, then some cocoa powder, light vanilla bean and ended with a little bit of woody sweetness (the barrel). The flavor blended fairly nice between the roast and the sweetness of the wood. Vanilla strayed just a little bit in this spectrum, just a touch of noticeable trace. Sly trace of roast, nuts and wood in the aftertaste and finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Low carbonation and ABV felt appropriate. Booziness seemed controlled but there. Overall, really nice barrel aged brown ale, well worthy of having again.
