The basil is not overdone, but it does mask the hops in this beer.

L: Hazy tan
S: Basil! Strong, wonderful smell of sweet basil. Subtle notes of white pepper and fresh cut grass.
T: Basil again! No real bitterness but there was a little bit of a citrus hop finish. On the watery side in terms of malt backbone.
F: Watery, a little bit under carbonated
O: I love the uniqueness of this and the use of fresh Michigan basil. I'm interested in brewing something like this but with some real bitterness, dry hopping, and just a little bit more rye or malt flavor to it.
