In this hop-forward twist on the classic amber ale, we utilize a heavy dry hop with Simcoe hops to bring about a balancing layer of complexity. Malts meet hops in a symbiosis of character that includes passion fruit, pine sap, grapefruit pith, toasted grain, caramel sweetness, and floral resin. A semi-dry finish with lasting bitterness have this drinking like an India Amber Ale.

Beer poured from tap into a pint glass. Pours rich red with a small off white head. Smells of sweet citrus hops with some dark roasted grain. Tastes of earthy and citrus hops with just enough darker grain to give it a bit extra. Beer is light bodied and very easy to drink with a good level of carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

12oz bottle, sample from the brewery.

Dark red hue, great looking lacing even till the end. Ripe fruit and caramel in the nose, some bread crust and mild leafy hop as well. Very light in bitterness, this brew is about the hop flavor though by doing this it lets the maltiness shine. MInty, piney, tropical fruit, earthy, and herbal. Kiss of alcohol and caramel in the finish. Tasty but would have preferred a bit more bitterness to help balance.

The Monkey Road Red was my favorite offering from LauderAle. It poured a nice amber clear and left a spotty lace. The Semcoe dry hop gave the scent a orange peel and pine flare. The taste was also affected by the semcoe hop. Very well balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was a little lighter than I would have liked...but still good. Overall....outstanding....nice job.
